Diving - Maximum Operating Depth allows you to calculate the maximum depth of a dive based upon the partial pressure of Oxygen and the percentage of Oxygen in the diving gas mixture. Technically, the Maximum Operating Depth (MOS) is the depth at which the partial pressure of oxygen of the gas mix exceeds a safe limit. This limit varies depending on diver trainer authority and various other parameters such as the expected exertion of the dive and its duration, but is usually in the range of 1.2 to 1.6 atmospheres or bar. Note: The percentage of Oxygen in normal atmospheric air is 21%.
